About Rev. Kathi Moon

Reverend & Wedding Officiant, Kathi Moon

Reverend Kathi Moon

I am a recycled housewife and a graduate of corporate America.

I love taking relationship enrichment courses. Being in groups with people who are learning, growing, being real, and sharing their experiences and their hearts is my idea of a good time. It's something my husband, Terry, and I love doing together, sometimes as co-leaders, sometimes as participants.

My calling is three-fold: as a professional wedding officiant, I know for sure that weddings are what I was born to do. Celebrating each couple and the love they share is my greatest joy. Telling people’s love stories in my own unique way gives friends and family a real sense of the depth and specialness a couple feels for each other.

I encourage the couples I work with to take a compatibility assessment which gives them an opportunity to learn relationship skills that will keep their love and passion fresh and alive as they go through life side by side.

Relationships are my strong suit. In addition to traditional training in my field and Prepare Enrich Training, I spent more than 25 years on the production team of The Loving Relationships Training, the most advanced relationship technology training of its kind in the world today. I am well-qualified and very skilled in helping couples learn new and better ways of relating to each other to enhance the love, romance, and passion that brought them together and inspired them to marry.

As a forgiveness coach, facilitating people in letting go of the pain of the past through the life-changing power of forgiveness is my contribution to transforming the quality of lives and relationships, and bringing more freedom, fun and pleasure into everyday life for people.

I received my true calling and my education late in life:

  • 1999 Bachelor of Divinity degree, Universal Brotherhood University, Atlanta, GA

  • 2004 Master of Divinity degree, Universal Brotherhood University, Atlanta, GA

  • 2009 Doctor of Divinity degree, Universal Brotherhood University, Atlanta, GA

How I became a wedding officiant

Shortly after my ordination in 1999, I was asked to perform a “living room” wedding for a family member. At the time, my ministry was focused on forgiveness coaching and study groups, so this was a stretch for me. The happy couple wanted a ceremony that was all their own, rather than a repeat of the same words everyone else used in ceremonies. So, I interviewed them to learn about their relationship and their hopes and dreams for the life they would share. Together, we created a ceremony that was a perfect fit for them. They were delighted with the results, and this made me realize that serving couples who are seeking my out-of-the-ordinary wedding officiant services was the perfect job I had been born to do.

What sets me apart from other wedding officiants

On June 2, 2000, Terry and I were married by a minister who was a highly-qualified professional and a caring friend. He and his wife kindly invited me to spend the night before my wedding at their home where we shared dinner and watched romantic movies. They made everything beautiful and sacred, and he even washed my car in the morning before the ceremony. These acts of kindness made a deep impression on me.

I consider your wedding to be a very special event, not only in your life, but in mine as well. I honor this by making your wedding as important to me as if it were my own. I give you and your wedding my full attention and presence throughout the entire time we work together, and especially on your wedding day. In other words, I’m there for you from your consultation all the way to your first magical married kiss and even beyond if you’d like me to be.

My work is my passion! I love people, I love weddings, and I love my job!

One of my favorite compliments came from a bride who commented that she thinks of me as her wedding doula.* I would love to be there for you so you have an easy, low-stress way to participate in creating your own unique and personal wedding ceremony. The ceremony we create together will inspire full hearts, eyes that may sparkle with a few joyful tears, and irrepressible smiles whenever you think of your wedding day.

I look forward to hearing your love story and to creating a beautiful, one-of-a-kind ceremony that will make the two of you smile into each other’s eyes whenever you think of it!

*A doula is a woman who is dedicated to easing birthing mothers so they have peace of mind as they bring new life into the world — just as you are laboring to deliver your perfect wedding.
